This Privacy Policy explains how Paw Health Pro ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use our website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your first and last name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Dog profile data: information you provide about your dogs, such as name, breed, date of birth, weight, sex, conditions, allergies and photos.
- Billing information: subscription tier and status, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. We do not store your full card number — payment details are handled directly by Stripe.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and log data, collected for security and to operate the Service (including rate limiting).
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain and improve the Service.
- To create and manage your account and subscription.
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To send transactional emails such as password resets, trial reminders and billing notifications.
- To secure the Service, including detecting and preventing abuse.
3. Third-party services
We share limited information with trusted third parties only as needed to operate the Service:
- Stripe, Inc. — processes payments and manages subscriptions. Stripe receives your name, email and payment details. See Stripe's privacy policy for details on their handling of your data.
- OpenAI — if and when AI-assisted features are enabled, limited, relevant content may be processed to generate informational insights. We do not sell your data, and we aim to minimize the personal information shared. (AI features are introduced progressively; this disclosure is provided for transparency.)
- Email/hosting providers — used to deliver transactional emails and host the Service.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies
We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your dog profiles at any time. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting or security purposes.
6. Security
We protect your data using industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), bcrypt password hashing, prepared database statements, CSRF protection and secure session cookies. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can update most information directly in your account settings, or contact us to exercise these rights.
GDPR (European Economic Area & UK)
If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your personal data on the lawful bases of performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and your consent where applicable. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
CCPA/CPRA (California)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you.
